Founded in 1886, Shelter Island Yacht Club (SIYC) is one of the oldest yacht clubs in the United States, located on Dering Harbor in Shelter Island, New York. The club has a rich history of fostering a strong sailing community, with members participating in various local and international regattas. The SIYC is home to several active one-design fleets, including the Etchells and Herreshoff H12-½, and maintains a Junior Sailing Program, which has produced numerous competitive sailors, including Olympians.
