The Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron (RQYS) is one of Australia’s longest-established yacht clubs, having been founded in 1866 in Brisbane, Queensland. The Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron is a very active and vibrant club, offering its members a wide range of activities and facilities. With its long history and strong emphasis on sailing, the club is a major venue for international sailing events and is home to many national and international yacht racing teams.
The club is now open to all types of boating, from cruising and fishing to power boating and sailing, offering members a diverse range of activities.
Social
The club has a long history of hosting social events, including annual dinners, charity balls and commemorative celebrations. The club has formal and informal venues for relaxing and dining.
Sailing
The club hosts many sailing events throughout the year, including the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race. There's sailing programme here.
