About Royal Natal Yacht Club
The Royal Natal Yacht Club is the oldest yacht and sports Club in Africa and was formed in 1858. It's history is linked to the history of South Africa. It celebrates camaraderie, competition and fun.
The clubhouse sits in Durban Harbour. It's home to a variety of social activities and commemorative dinners. You can also stay at the club in the well-appointed Captain's Cabin.
The club has an active sailing calendar.
In 2023 it is defending - and hosting, - the Lipton Cup invented by philanthropist, tea magnate, footballer and yachtsman Sir Thomas Lipton.
