About Royal Hamilton Yacht Club
Established in 1888, the Royal Hamilton Yacht Club (RHYC) in Hamilton, Ontario, has a rich history of promoting yacht racing locally and internationally. Located at the west end of Lake Ontario, the club originally opened on the Burlington Canal, moving later to the foot of Bay Street. The RHYC offers one of the longest sailing seasons in central Canada thanks to the unique climatic, geographic, and hydrographic qualities of Hamilton Harbour. The club has been recognized with several Ontario Sailing Association awards, including Regatta of the Year. It has been home to champions at various levels and has contributed significantly to sailing in Canada, with its members and youth programs achieving national and international success.
