Since its establishment in 1916, the Queen City Yacht Club (QCYC) has been an integral part of the Northwest United States boating community. Located on the serene Portage Bay in Seattle, WA, the club enjoys a vibrant membership of over 500 boaters engaging in both power and sail boating. QCYC is recognized for its leadership in community and maritime activities, including the Chet Gibson Decorated Boat Parade and the Special People's Cruise, which provides local challenged citizens an opportunity to experience boating.
The club's extensive activities include club cruises, races, junior sailing lessons, and numerous social events. The clubhouse serves as a hub for these activities and is available for members to rent for private events. With 229 slips for members and guest moorage available, QCYC promotes a lively boating culture against the backdrop of the Pacific Northwest's stunning natural beauty.
Social
QCYC's social calendar is filled with events such as the Friday Night Socials, lighted boat parades during Christmas, and the Special People's Cruise. These events, along with participation in the Opening Day Parade and other community activities, underscore the club's commitment to fostering a strong sense of community and camaraderie among members. The clubhouse, with capacity for up to 225 guests, hosts various personal events for members, including weddings and graduations.
