Nassau Yacht Club
About Nassau Yacht Club
The Nassau Yacht Club was established in 1931 by a group of fourteen charter members, including prominent Bahamians like Roland Symonette, who later became the country’s first premier. The club’s original clubhouse, designed by Morton, was built on the site of a former miniature golf course and has since been upgraded several times. NYC has played a significant role in promoting yacht racing and sailing in The Bahamas, introducing the Star Class to the region and co-founding the Miami-Nassau Ocean Race. Over the decades, NYC has become synonymous with Bahamian sailing success, producing numerous Olympic medalists and hosting prestigious regattas such as the Star Class World Championship and the 5.5 Meter World Championship.

The Nassau Yacht Club offers members a range of social amenities, including a restaurant that serves Bahamian cuisine, a banquet hall, multiple conference rooms, and a poolside bar. The club also hosts various social events throughout the year, providing a vibrant community atmosphere for its members.
