The Kieler Yacht-Club’s clubhouse, was originally built in the late 19th century and rebuilt after World War I. Today, it functions as a hotel with 21 rooms and suites, offering elegant event spaces such as the Kaiser’s Hall and Commodore’s Hall. The clubhouse is a social hub for members, providing a setting for various events and gatherings.
Sailing and racing events
KYC is renowned for its extensive regatta calendar, highlighted by the Kieler Woche, which draws over 3,000 sailors annually. The club also hosts other significant events like the MAIOR and YES regattas, and world championships in various classes. KYC is a leader in competitive sailing, nurturing young talent through its youth and regatta programs.

The club is highly active in cruising (Fahrtensegeln), with over 500 member boats sailing under its banner in local and international waters.
