About Island Sailing Club
The Island Sailing club was formed in 1889, with a diverse range of founders from all walks of life. Today, the club - known as the Friendly Club - based in Cowes on the Isle of Wight, supports a wide range of social and sailing activities. The Island Sailing Club offers a warm welcome to all reciprocal visitors.
Sailing
The club organises the Round the Island Race each year, attracting 1500 boats and some 10,000 sailors. It also helps organise Cowes Week, one of the world's most prestigious regattas.
Apart from Cowes Week the club organises regular sailing events on the Solent and around the island.
Social
The club plenty of bars, function rooms and areas just to relax and take a view of the Solent. There's an active social calendar with regular talks and commemorative dinners.
The club can also provide accommodation.
