Golden Gate Yacht Club (GGYC), has been a central figure in the yachting community since its founding in 1939. Originally known as Puerto de Oro Yacht Club, GGYC was a refuge for local sailors and boaters. The club has undergone significant developments, particularly after the 1989 earthquake, culminating in a major remodel in 2013. GGYC is famous for its role in the America’s Cup, having won the 33rd challenge and defended the 34th and 35th regattas. The club offers a variety of facilities, including moorings for both small boats and large yachts, providing direct access to the breathtaking views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco Bay. Members benefit from an active social calendar and the prestige of belonging to a club with a storied legacy in competitive sailing.
