Founded in 1955 and located in Coconut Grove on Biscayne Bay, the Coral Reef Yacht Club (CRYC) has become a cornerstone of Miami's yachting community. The club, with its rich history, has hosted numerous prestigious regattas, including the Star Worlds and the Bacardi Cup. CRYC offers its members a range of facilities such as a 6,000-square-foot clubhouse, a 100-slip marina, and a heated pool. The club also prides itself on a robust youth sailing program that has produced many champion sailors. The atmosphere at CRYC is known for being both relaxed and welcoming, making it a popular spot for members and guests to enjoy boating, social activities, and fine dining and views of Biscayne Bay.
Social facilities
CRYC provides an extensive range of social facilities, including a dining room, multiple bars, a rooftop lounge, and a large veranda overlooking Biscayne Bay. The club hosts various social events throughout the year, from holiday celebrations to the monthly "Sundowners" gathering. Members can enjoy casual and formal dining options, with the Yardarm Bar being a popular spot for drinks and socializing.
Sailing and racing events
Racing is central to CRYC's identity, with a history of hosting significant regattas such as the Orange Bowl International Youth Regatta and the Rolex Miami Olympic Classes Regatta. The club’s Race Committee organises top-tier competitions. CRYC members include some of the world’s best sailors, with several having won national and international titles.
Mooring and marina facilities
The club features a 100-slip marina equipped with power, water, and small boat hoists. The marina provides secure and convenient docking for members and visiting yachtsmen, making it an ideal base for exploring Biscayne Bay and beyond.
Visiting the club
Reciprocal members from other yacht clubs, particularly those from the Florida Council of Yacht Clubs, are welcome at CRYC. Visitors should arrange their visit in advance and present their membership card upon arrival. Limited guest access is also available for participants in regattas hosted by the club.

Located in the historic Coconut Grove neighborhood, CRYC is near several of Miami’s top attractions, including Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, the Miami Marine Stadium, and the vibrant art and dining scene in Coconut Grove itself. The club’s location offers easy access to the Gulf Stream, Florida Keys, and the Bahamas, making it a prime spot for both local and international boaters.
