About Caracas Country Club
Club
In 1918, the "Caracas Golf Club" was founded, at the proposal of Mr. William H. Phelps, which was thought of as a club for golfers, most of them oil foreigners residing in the country. At that time golf was an unknown sport in Venezuela, and it was not until 1923 that the Members' Assembly decided to change the name to the current “Caracas Country Club”. In 1928 the lands of the Blandín Farm are acquired.
The facilities of the Caracas Country Club were designed by the firm Olmsted Brothers Inc. of Boston, the same designers of Central Park in New York. The design of the Club House was done by the architect Clifford Charles Wendehack and the golf courses by the architect Charles Banks. This is how a first category club was built, nowadays considered Venezuelan cultural heritage.
The Club, located in one of the greenest and greenest areas of the city, has a privileged 18-hole golf course, several swimming pools, riding courts, tennis courts, gymnasium for ladies and gentlemen, game rooms, Fuentes de Soda, a main restaurant and a cozy bar, all spaces from which you can appreciate the magnitude of the El Ávila hill.
