Antigua Yacht Club
About Antigua Yacht Club
In 1967, the English Harbour Yacht Club was founded by a group of seven people. In 1971, the lease for land at Falmouth Harbour was signed by the Trustees and the Governor General, allowing the club to build their first clubhouse. In 1972, the Club changed its name to the Antigua Yacht Club.
Sailing
For the past fifty years, the Antigua Yacht Club has been promoting the sport of sailing and hosting a range of events such as Antigua Sailing Week, the Superyacht Cup Antigua, the RORC 600 Caribbean series, the Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta and weekly dinghy racing. The Club is run by volunteers and has grown from a few people racing on Sunday morning in Freemans Bay to a well-known and beloved yacht club.
The club is also a powerboat centre and has an active youth sailing training scheme.
